What EVERTOR 10MG is used for?

  • EVERTOR 10MG reduces the blood supply to the tumour and slows down the growth and spread of cancer cells

It is used to treat adult patients with

  • Hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women and advanced kidney cancer (advanced renal cell carcinoma), where other treatments have not helped
  • Advanced tumours called neuroendocrine tumours that originate from the stomach, bowels, lung or pancreas. It is given if the tumours are inoperable and do not overproduce specific hormones or other related natural substances

Talk to your doctor before you take this medicine, if you:

Driving & Using Machines

  • If you feel unusually tired (fatigue is a very common side effect), take special care when driving or using machines


Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • Ketoconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole or fluconazole and other antifungals used to treat fungal infections
  • Clarithromycin, telithromycin or erythromycin, antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections
  • Ritonavir and other medicines used to treat HIV infection/AIDS
  • Verapamil or diltiazem, used to treat heart conditions or high blood pressure
  • Ciclosporin, a medicine used to stop the body from rejecting organ transplants
  • Imatinib, used to inhibit the growth of abnormal cells
  • Nefazodone, used to treat depression
  • Rifampicin, used to treat tuberculosis
  • Dexamethasone, a corticosteroid used to treat a wide variety of conditions including inflammatory or immune problems
  • Phenytoin, carbamazepine or phenobarbital and other anti-epileptics used to stop seizures or fits

 How to Use
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
  • Do not chew or crush this medicine

If you take more EVERTOR 10MG

  • If you have taken too much EVERTOR 10MG, or if someone else accidentally takes your tablets, see a doctor or go to a hospital immediately

If you forget to take EVERTOR 10MG

  • If you miss a dose, take your next dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten tablets

If you stop taking EVERTOR 10MG

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you

 Side Effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them

  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat
  • Severe itching of the skin, with a red rash or raised bumps
  • Increased temperature, chills (signs of infection)
  • Fever, coughing, difficulty breathing, wheezing
  • Excessive thirst, high urine output, increased appetite with weight loss, tiredness (signs of diabetes)
  • Loss of appetite, nausea or diarrhoea, weight loss
  • Disturbed taste (dysgeusia)
  • Nose bleeds (epistaxis)
  • Feeling weak or tired
  • Pale skin, signs of low level of red blood cells (anaemia)
  • Swelling of arms, hands, feet, ankles or other part of the body (signs of oedema)
  • High level of lipids (fats) in the blood (hypercholesterolemia)
  • Spontaneous bleeding or bruising (signs of low level of platelets, also known as thrombocytopenia)
  • Trouble sleeping (insomnia)
  • Difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia)
  • Joint pain
  • Menstruation disorders such as irregular periods
  • Low level of potassium, phosphate and calcium in the blood
  • Hair loss
  • Coughing up blood (hemoptysis)
  • Chest pain
  • Abnormal wound healing
  • Hot flushes
  • Pink eye or red eye (conjunctivitis)

Q. Is any monitoring required while taking Evertor?
Regular monitoring is required while you are on Evertor. The doctor will advise blood tests to see the counts of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets since the counts may decrease during treatment with Evertor. Also, blood tests will be required to check your kidney function, liver function, blood glucose levels, and cholesterol levels.

Q. What should I avoid while taking Evertor?
You should avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking Evertor. This is because taking them together may increase the levels of Evertor in your blood to harmful levels. Avoid the use of live vaccinations and any possible contact with individuals who have received live vaccinations.

Q. What is the most important information I need to know about Evertor?
Evertor can cause serious side effects which include severe allergic reactions, angioedema, and kidney failure which can be severe and can lead to death. It is possible that you may develop an infection or problems related to lung such as breathing problems.

Q. Is Evertor a chemotherapy?
Evertor is an anticancer medicine. It belongs to kinase inhibitor class of medicines. It works reducing the blood supply to the tumor, which slows down the growth and spread of cancer cells.

Q. How is Evertor administered?
Usually, Evertor is taken once or twice daily. The medicine should always either be taken with food or always be taken without food. Evertor should be swallowed whole with water and should not be crushed or chewed.

Q. How long can you take Evertor?
There is no definite duration of treatment with Evertor. Evertor is continued till clinical benefit is seen or unacceptable toxicity or side effects occur.

Q. How will I know that Evertor is shrinking my brain tumor?
The effect of Evertor in shrinking the size of tumor can only be checked getting regular brain scans. It should be done as advised your doctor and your treatment plan.

Q. Is Evertor cytotoxic?
Yes, Evertor is cytotoxic against human cancer cells of breast, stomach, prostate, and kidneys (renal cell carcinoma).
